This two-day Art of Bodywork® training with Lise Waugh and Cyndi George offers a hands-on exploration of gentle, precise techniques for addressing common structural and functional patterns in the body. The Art of Bodywork® Levels 1 & 2, developed by Alastair McLoughlin, is grounded in the osteopathic principle that structure governs function. This practical, hands-on course teaches reliable, reproducible techniques designed to improve structural integrity, reduce pain, and restore ease of movement. The methods are clearly taught, effective in real-world clinical settings, and easily integrated into daily practice.

Level 1 introduces foundational techniques addressing the shoulder girdle, head and respiration, hip and pelvic structures, iliotibial band, piriformis, and male and female reproductive organs.
Level 2 revises and deepens Level 1 material while expanding into ankle and foot mechanics, pelvic and lumbar dysfunction, quadratus lumborum, lumbar disc injury, and thigh adductors.

This advanced lecture and lab course explores the biomechanics of contralateral and ipsilateral myokinematic lumbo-pelvic-femoral dysfunction. Treatment emphasizes the restoration of pelvic-femoral alignment and recruitment of specific rotational muscles to reduce synergistic predictable patterns of pathomechanic asymmetry. Emphasis will be placed on restoration, recruitment, and retraining activities using internal and external rotators of the femur, pelvis, and lower trunk. Guidance will be provided on how to inhibit overactive musculature. This will enable the course participant to restore normal resting muscle position. Participants will be able to immediately apply PRI clinical assessment and management skills when treating diagnoses such as piriformis syndrome, ilio-sacral joint dysfunction, and low back strain.

Introduction to Qigong with Lori Chapman Unrau L.Ac

In this one hour class Lori will share basic Qigong techniques to preserve health, calm the mind and enhance well being.

Qigong exercises are a branch of Chinese medicine dedicated to self healing that are in essence a “moving meditation”. Qigong is a gentle, slow exercise performed  standing and sometimes in seated positions to enhance well being as well as increase internal vitality and strength. 

She will teach an introductory Qigong method called, "The Eight Pieces of Silk" in addition to a passive Qigong (Meditation). Enhanced self care includes acupressure and guided breath techniques that are used to calm the mind and create an internal environment for radiant health, balanced immunity, healthy digestion and restful sleep.

Lori currently practices Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at Acupuncture STL in Webster Groves. She has been teaching and practicing Qigong, Tai Qi and Asian Bodywork for  27 years.
